What is an FBR Invoice Number (IRN)?
An FBR invoice number, sometimes called an IRN or invoice reference number, is the unique identifier FBR returns for every invoice you successfully report. It confirms the invoice is registered in FBR's system and is what makes it officially verified.
Key points
- It is generated by FBR, not by your own software, when an invoice passes validation.
- It is printed on the invoice alongside the QR code so buyers and auditors can confirm the invoice is genuine.
- Each number is unique to a single reported invoice and ties back to your registration.
- Without a valid FBR invoice number, an invoice is not considered digitally reported.
